All consultation and support services are normally provided by Colin Hill in person.  When not available during holidays etc., there are arrangements with two colleagues who operate similar businesses and who will, under contract to us, provide continuity of telephone support.  If required, they can also visit, although the fee to cover travelling time and expenses would need to be specially agreed.  They will not charge you separately - all charges will be invoiced by us at the rates agreed for the support and consultation as supplied by ourselves.  If there is any work which we feel needs the assistance of other personnel more qualified in the desired field, we will arrange this for you.  Any such services may be chargeable at a different rate to our standard rates, but such rates would be discussed and agreed before putting such work in hand.

Our normal practice is to offer to contract for an agreed amount of time with appropriate discounts for contracts of minimum length invoiced in advance.  Contracted time may be used for as many incidents as required, ranging from a quarter-hour to a full day.  Once contracted, time remains available for call off indefinitely without further surcharge until the contracted time is used up.  Unlike fixed-price, fixed-term contracts, there are no limitations on how the time you pay for is used.  It may be to support equipment or software supplied by us, installing, configuring, supporting or fixing equipment, software or services obtained elsewhere, providing training for one or more staff and offering any other services as required.  As one block of contracted time is completed and another started, clients are normally expected to accept a further invoice for the same amount of time at the same rate, but such matters are negotiable at any time.  Travelling time to and from your office would be charged in addition to the time spent on site as if part of the period charged for, plus travelling and other expenses at cost.  Motoring expenses are charged at £ 0.45 per mile.  However, these additional charges would be replaced by a single, lower fixed charge equivalent to an agreed amount of contracted time to cover time and all expenses in addition to time on site for visits exceeding two hours.

A schedule of work done together with a summary of time brought forward, time introduced and time remaining unused is prepared and sent to clients each month when work done in the calendar month exceeds one hour.  Otherwise, a schedule will only be sent on a quarterly basis.
